Be Strong and Courageous

From the Pastor’s Desk:
The message on Sunday, March 24th, given by Jessie Konemann, was a message of
hope and promise. Jessie’s testimony told of her struggles with her undiagnosed
illness and her faith but ended with the knowledge that we are not alone on our
journey through life. Joshua 1:9 (Printed on the back of the Jessie Strong T-Shirts
says) “Be strong and courageous do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your
God will be with you wherever you go.” This is a spiritual promise God gave to
Joshua following the death of Moses when Joshua became the leader of the
Israelite nation. It would be Joshua’s responsibility to lead the Israelites into the
Promised Land and he would need the assurance of God’s presence along the way.
Today that promise is extended to all believe in Jesus Christ. Today, as we journey
through this Lenten Season, may we journey knowing without a doubt that
whatever awaits us on this journey, God is with us. In Hebrews 13:5-6 we read this
promise from God “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with
confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. “ We know that at the end
of our Lenten Journey the glory and promise of Easter awaits. We know that
following these 40 days of Lent the resurrection of Jesus Christ is proclaimed by
the angels and shouted by living witnesses. May we, like Jessie, cling to the
promise of the Old Rugged Cross; knowing that no matter what the future holds,
our Crucified and Risen Savior holds our future, and we will not be afraid. Amen
and God’s Blessing and Happy Easter to you all.
Peace
Pastor David Krueger
